STRESS MANAGEMENT
STRESS MANAGEMENT

IN ADDITION TO CBT, MCBT,EMDR (SEE SEPARATE DESCRIPTIONS) ,
BIOFEEDBACK and/or SELF-REGULATION SKILLS HELP

REDUCE OR ELIMINATE PHYSICAL & EMOTIONAL
 SYMPTOMS OF STRESS
Dr. Nelson begins teaching Self-Regulation Meditation that often accomplish the goals of the physiological component of stress, anxiety and depression management.  When physiological self regulation is mastered there is a compounded benefit to the emotional and cognitive experience.

In the event that additional learning is appropriate Dr. Nelson has been certified by the Biofeedback Certification Institution of America in the use of biofeedback as a therapeutic modality for treatment of  stress related illnesses, chronic pain, and other health issues such as anxiety, stress and depression.
Biofeedback uses signals from you body to improve your physical & emotional health. If you've stepped on a scale or taken your temperature, for example, you've received
"feed back" information that you then perhaps acted on.
Dr. Nelson may use biofeedback techniques to help clients suffering from anxiety, depression,  stress, or tension.  One such technique uses an instrument that picks up signals from body.  These may be from the nervous system, the muscles, the respiratory system or the cardiovascular system. As the client learns to regulate these systems using immediate feedback and self-regulation techniques s/he can get an immediate progress report by watching the speed of the signals,
and thus learn how to better regulate and balance both mind and body.

Another technique, Brainwave Entrainment, uses auditory and visual stimuli to exercise brain wave patterns to work efficiently to manage mood and thought processes.
This technique is like "boot camp" for the brain.

Dr. Nelson has taught Stress Magement skills to individuals and to individuals
within corporate and group settings for over 30 years.
